Happy International Women's Day! The United Nations first began celebrating International Women's Day on March 8, 1975. According to the United Nations, empowering women and girls is a core means of tackling economic underperformance, global overpopulation and poverty worldwide. This International Women's Day, Boston Offices is celebrating the work of Girl Develop It Boston.

Boston Classroom Space with Girl Develop It (BOSTON)

Girl Develop It Boston will be hosting their Introduction to JavaScript course in Boston Offices' Boston classroom space. Started in 2010, in response to a lack of women in the tech workforce, Girl Develop It is a nonprofit organization that offers affordable programs for adult females interested in learning web and software development in an environment that is judgement-free. They would like to use these classes to create a network of empowered women who feel confident in their abilities to code and build beautiful web and mobile applications. How awesome!

Boston Offices was introduced to us by our client, StubHub. Due to this introduction, we are proud to provide the Girl Develop It Boston's with free Boston classroom space for their courses. The Introduction to JavaScript class begin on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at StubHub's Boston Offices' space at 53 State Street, 5th Floor, Boston, MA.

The Introduction to Javascript class acts as a stepping stone after learning HTML/CSS. This course will cover "writing your own JavaScript functions, browser events, web animation, and will touch on the JQuery library." According to Girl Develop It, students will exit the class with a "good grasp of basic programming principles and the knowledge of how to manipulate HTML elements."

This course involves four different sessions running every Tuesday from March 15th to April 5th, 2016. For more information on the event or how to sign up, check out the MeetUp page here.
